The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) has paid tribute to Sgt Pachara Yaemtaeng-on and SM1 Wuttajak Thothong, two Thai servicemen who recently died in the Thailand-Cambodia border clashes. The ISOC spokesperson team publicly expressed condolences, highlighting their bravery in defending the nation. Both soldiers served important roles, Pachara as a field radio operator and Wuttajak as a frontline soldier, whose efforts were crucial in safeguarding Thailand’s sovereignty.

The clashes occurred at Hill 677 in Ubon Ratchathani's Na Yia subdistrict, where Sgt Pachara was deployed as part of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion. Tragically, he lost his life following an explosion during combat operations. ISOC emphasized his dedication, noting his commitment to keeping "every square inch of Thailand" secure from threats. His actions were praised as exemplary for all Thai soldiers.

SM1 Wuttajak, known as "Sergeant J," served in Sa Kaeo province and became the 11th serviceman to die in these border operations. Unlike Pachara, Wuttajak's death was due to a flare-up of a pre-existing medical condition worsened by the intense demands of his duties. After initial treatment at a local hospital, he was transferred to Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok, where he passed away on December 11.

ISOC described his dedication under challenging conditions as deserving of recognition. Both soldiers have been celebrated for their commitment to duty and sacrifice, with Wuttajak specifically honored for his relentless service despite the absence of a combat-related injury.

Moving forward, ISOC has pledged ongoing support to the families of the deceased, alongside all personnel still engaged in the region. This commitment ensures the continuation of duty and remembrance of the fallen soldiers' valor, reported The Nation.
