If you expected him to say something nice about a guy who contributed to the unhinged rhetoric that incited someone to shoot him in the head, good luck with that.

A wise man once said:  Nothing.

sorry I posted the same before I saw your post. different forum.

President Trump's statement is classless and wildly inappropriate. I typically enjoy the theatrics of the Trump presidency but this one was way over the line, and I have no trouble calling it out. This has nothing to do with whether Reiner was a good guy, a bad guy, or any other kind of guy.

Watching y'all Trump haters is funny though. You're endlessly litigating over how bad Trump is, waiting for the next outrage, the next "I told you so!" moment that will finally cause us MAGA types to reject Trump. More importantly, there's an underlying sense that if that happens MAGA will all suddenly become good little leftists, having seen the light now that the curtain has been pulled back on Trump.

No, just no. I don't care how crass and tasteless Trump can sometimes be. Saving the USA is about much more than him, and I'm enormously grateful that he's president. Him being an asshat has zero bearing on whether I'm a right-winger or a leftist, and is completely separate from which side I want to see in power.

Be careful what you wish for, in terms of impeachment. Trump is actually politically moderate. If he were out of the way, what's waiting to take his place is less so. OK for me! But would be even more tortuous for you leftists than Trump.

Quite the contrary, and says way more about, what we are not allowed to criticize on AN.

Thank You Elon Musk for allowing 'free expression' again.

Well said.

Tragedies like Rob Reiner and his wife being murdered are simply terrible. That's all.  Reactions, then reactions to reactions, are not really needed. Expecting a leopard to change its spots is unrealistic.

Simply mourn the passing of a brilliant man and artist whose work brought some joy to the world.

Personally I think the poorest least educated Somali refugee has way more class that trump ……. He’s just trying to suck attention away from a far more talented and decent human being he’s circling the bowl.

Trump living in your heads 24/7

Then how about he just shuts up for 24 hours? I would REALLy like to go through 24 hours without having to think or comment on Trump but he makes it absolutely impossible because he is so egotystical and so thin skinned he just cannot keep himself out of the news.

Case in point is this vile statement. If he didn't like the man then there was absolutely no need for him to comment AT ALL never mind the digusting rant he decided to go with. Parents are murdered by their obviously disturbed son and all he can do is cr@p on about how much he didn't like him. Terrible, terrible thing to do.

Trump is a trully dispicable human being with zero class and those who support him are no better.

The title of the op is essentially a lie and a typical disingenuous conflation of the left, is why the creditability of the left is in the tank. Though Reiner may have died WITH the affliction, an affliction many here seem to have, he didn’t die OF it, as the op falsely accused Trump of stating.

"reportedly due to the anger etc..."

And there we have it in a nutshell. This idea the the USA needs to be 'saved' and Trump is the only one to do it and it doesn't matter how it is done and the manner it is done as long as it's 'saved'.

So in your not so humble opinion, what EXACTLY is Trump doing that is 'saving' America? (shall I guess the first one has something to do with immigrants?)

I do limit my news sources to exclude social media these days but even then, this proverbal bull in a China shop (Trump pronounces it Chinaaa of course) is impossible to ignore.

And we also have you lot on this forum to contend with, with your straw-man arguments, false equivalences and gaslighting. But at least that's a bit more fun.

But they're not are they? Granted people can comment on anything they want on an open forum such as AN but when it comes to the POTUS, HIS words have meaning and impact and set the tone for others to follow.

It is NOT sheer coincidence that America is more fragmented than it has been in an awful long time and it's all about Trump, his words and his deeds.

ESPECIALLY the US president and anyone who denies that is a major buffoon.

I find it deeply ironic, and quite sad given the affliction that Reiner was suffering from, that on the day he is murdered by his own son everyone is more concerned with what Mr. Trump said about it.

Talk about rent free...

Looking forward to the MAGA fanboys supporting the rights of posters who hate on Trump when he for once in his life does the right thing and drops cold.

Exactly. I don't think Rob Reiner, of all people, would want to be discussed only in regards to his disdain for the President. It is a gross oversimplification of his life's work. Kind of sad, really. And ironic, given how gracious and decent he was in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's murder.

This total lack of grace that Trump showed in his so-called "memoriam to Reiner" shows just who he is once again. Such a low LIFE, such gutter junk, and such a trailer park, white trash mentality. It's at the shame at this moment in time that America has a goon like him representing her.

You mean the "leader of the free world" once again showing he has no brains, class, soul or morals? I think that's noteworthy, buddy!
