The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a 25-year-old administrator of a well-known online gambling website at Don Mueang Airport after he returned to Thailand from Cambodia. The arrest took place in the international arrivals hall, immediately removing a suspect linked to illegal online gambling operations and alleged money laundering from circulation.

The suspect, identified as Mr Nattapong, was detained by officers from the Crime Suppression Division under the CIB, working jointly with Don Mueang Immigration Police and related agencies. He was arrested under an arrest warrant issued by the Chonburi Provincial Court, warrant number 647/2568, dated 7 November 2025, on charges of jointly organising unauthorised online gambling and participating in money laundering.

The arrest occurred on the second floor of Terminal 1 at Don Mueang International Airport as the suspect arrived on a flight from Siem Reap, Cambodia. Officers presented the warrant and took him into custody on the spot before transferring him to investigators for further legal proceedings.

Investigators said the suspect had travelled to Cambodia and worked there for approximately four to five months as an administrator for an online gambling website. His responsibilities reportedly included managing back-end systems, responding to customer enquiries about deposit and withdrawal procedures, and coordinating with other members of the gambling network.

According to police, the role placed the suspect at the operational centre of the online gambling platform, linking technical system management with customer-facing services. Authorities believe these activities formed part of a broader network facilitating illegal gambling and financial flows connected to money laundering.

During questioning following his arrest, the suspect denied all charges. However, he admitted that he had previously worked in the role described by investigators, prompting officers to proceed with formal legal action based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.

Police have transferred the suspect to investigators at Mueang Chonburi Police Station to continue proceedings in accordance with legal procedures. The CIB stated that the investigation will continue to identify any additional individuals involved in the network.

Thaitabloid reported that the Central Investigation Bureau has also issued a public warning, stressing that accepting work related to online gambling, even under the title of website administrator or system operator, constitutes a criminal offence under Thai law. The bureau warned that such offences carry penalties including imprisonment and fines, and that individuals may face prosecution even if the work was carried out while based overseas.
