A Myanmar national, Tang Siton, was discovered dead in a police holding cell in Sri Racha, Chonburi, on December 21, leading to an investigation to uncover the cause of his death. Detained for public intoxication, Tang initially showed injuries upon his arrest, prompting officers to take him to Laem Chabang Hospital before placing him in a shared cell. Despite receiving care, his condition worsened, leading to his sudden death the following day.

Tang was taken into custody by Nong Kham Police at 2.18am after exhibiting erratic behavior due to intoxication. The injuries on Tang were observed prior to his arrest and were thought to be minor. During the night in custody, officers noted his agitated and uncooperative state.

Fellow detainees recounted that Tang initially behaved normally but became aggressive, reportedly hitting his head against a wall. His peers attended to his wound and provided medication, while tensions led to an altercation over sleeping arrangements. As Tang's condition deteriorated, nearby detainees alerted officers when he struggled to breathe.

Emergency responders arrived around noon to find Tang unresponsive. Despite efforts to revive him, including CPR administered by hospital nurses, he was declared dead on-site. A preliminary examination revealed no new injuries, supporting witness accounts that suggested no foul play by other detainees.

Tang's body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for a comprehensive autopsy. Preliminary findings suggest no foul play, yet the investigation continues pending forensic results to clarify the cause of death, reported The Thaiger.

if his condition worsened he did not die suddenly....and it shows how cruel the RTP is.. Can see at every arrest on TV.. The officers who arrested him should be prosecuted for manslaughter
