A fatal road crash claimed two lives after a saloon car left the road, struck a bridge barrier and caught fire in Yasothon province early on Christmas Day. The incident occurred at around 6.30am on 25 December 2025, resulting in the deaths of both occupants at the scene after the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

According to reports, the Pra Phra Mae Association received an emergency call reporting that a saloon car driver had lost control and crashed into a bridge guardrail before bursting into flames. The crash happened in Ban Kut Jod, Sawat subdistrict, Loeng Nok Tha district, Yasothon province. The impact and subsequent fire caused severe damage to the vehicle and left no opportunity for the occupants to escape.

Rescue and emergency medical teams rushed to the scene shortly after the alert was received. On arrival, they found the car fully ablaze and immediately attempted to extinguish the fire. Once the flames were brought under control, responders discovered two bodies inside the vehicle, both of which had been badly burned.

Authorities later confirmed that the two deceased were residents of Phanom Phrai district in Roi Et province. Their identities were not released in the report. The cause of the crash has not yet been officially determined and no further details were provided about the vehicle’s speed, direction of travel or whether other vehicles were involved.

Local responders indicated that the crash occurred in the early morning hours, a time when visibility can be reduced and roads may be less busy. However, officials have not confirmed whether road conditions, visibility or driver behaviour contributed to the incident. Police and relevant authorities documented the scene and gathered evidence as part of their ongoing investigation.

The deaths add to concerns over road safety during holiday periods, when traffic volumes often increase. Emergency services reiterated the importance of caution while driving, particularly in the early morning hours, although no formal public statement was issued in connection with this specific case.

Investigators are expected to conduct further examinations of the wreckage and coordinate with local police to establish the exact cause of the crash and fire. The bodies of the two victims will be handled according to standard procedures, including formal identification and notification of relatives.
