Da Nang city has swiftly completed repairs on all houses damaged by recent natural disasters, marking significant progress in disaster recovery. The “Quang Trung Campaign” saw a total of 361 homes repaired, surpassing initial estimates by 54. Of these, 144 houses were entirely rebuilt after being destroyed by floods, with construction underway on all sites.

Persistent heavy rainfall and landslides had previously hindered rebuilding efforts, but local authorities managed to adapt and maintain progress. Prefabricated homes were distributed to families in areas threatened by landslides, and safe resettlement zones are being prepared to ensure community stability. Soldiers and local forces worked through adverse conditions, manually transporting building supplies and adjusting construction techniques during inclement weather.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Việt Bình and local police, coordinated efforts among the municipal Military Command and local authorities helped expedite the process, overcoming logistical challenges. In Nam Trà My Commune alone, 15 damaged homes, including eight collapses, were targeted, with over 80% of tasks completed through collaborative efforts.

As construction continues, officials anticipate that remaining homes will be finished before January 31, 2026. This accelerated pace is expected to improve living conditions for affected families, with safe housing and community infrastructure being prioritized, reported Vietnam News.

Key Takeaways

  • Da Nang completed repairs on 361 disaster-damaged homes quickly.
