It was aired apparently between 2009-13, there's 4 seasons, I'm a bit late to the game.

He does read a script I assume.

I managed a sheet metal fabricating facility that produced made to order products for the HVAC industry.

Someone orders a what I think is a piece of cr*p, I check and make sure it's what they want, then I build it, ship it and invoice them. Not my call.

The producers have a movie they want to make, and they hire people to make it. It's not that easy to pick scripts that will be hits.

I used to fish with a guy that produced Hollywood films. He said everyone thinks it's great, right up until it's not.

A wee bit obsessed with Liam, don't ya think.

I can't knock a guy who spends a lot of his time, with Pamula, and assuming a bit of that payday, with all the 'worthwhile' charities he supports: kids, malnutrition, poverty, and actual important things, that make a real difference.

You do realize, it's just a job. Here's a script, can you pull it off, and we'll pay you this much.

Not different than a tradesman, here's a blueprint, specs, for a project, can you build or fix this, we'll pay you this much for it.

Every job isn't going to be a blockbuster, thought provoking or humanitarian project, especially for a 74 yr old. It's a job.

You did start to watch it, why, yea ... salary earne

After 50 years in the movie business pretty sure he'd have a good idea what's a decent production and what's not. The movie was available as a download it wasn't even a cinema release.

Liam isn't alone, actors like De Niro, Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Willis and many others just take on crap at the end of their careers.

Coming Monday 7th September on Metflix…

Edit:Sorry I’ve just discovered the film is from 2021, must have missed it which is strange for me as I’m a huge Denzil fan…

@SamSpade Don't get too excited, watched it last night, 4/10, and I think I might be a bit generous.

I used to think that.

This is one of those movies you wish you’d never watched, but only after you’ve already wasted two hours watching it.

It's a pretty decent movie with him. I brought the DVD back from Texas last November. Hard to find anything we already haven't see so many times already, but the performances are good. Malek his usual eccentric self.

I've waited a long time to download 'The Odyssey'. (Not helped by misspelling it!) I've had 2 goes at it; 1 a telesynch version which came with subtitles in a foreign language and 2 a 1080 Webrip which I've just watched for an hour. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. The script is dire! I know it needs stressing he's coming home but every other minute? Next the acting - obviously there are tracts where an actor, when talking to the gods, will have no one 'on stage' with him to bounce off and the camera records him going through the motions! Awful. The casting - the part of Odysseus' son Telemachus (it's a shocking part anyway) is played by a callow youth who struggles to make anything of the couple of character traits he is given. Athena crops up frequently seemingly to her own embarrassment at having to deliver such pathetic dialogue. Even the supposedly brawny hero looks to have undeveloped legs that would hardly keep him upright during a storm at sea! The CGI monsters are good though my version seems to have skipped the scene where Cyclops loses his only eye. I will finish it to calculate how many millions of $$$ have been wasted on this trite, inconsequential nonsense.

Slightly off topic,

I watched an old TV interview with Johnny Depp yesterday.

He claimed he never watched his finished movies (POTC) they were shot simultaneously, with scenes in no particular order, he wasn't there for scenes without him acting, and they didn't pay him to watch the finished product so he didn't.

Wow. I finally finished my version and it was every bit as bad as my comments above. My Odysseus (ginger red beard) looks nothing like yours. So I don't know what I watched only it was a waste of 2+ hours of my life. Thank you for putting me straight.

@mikebell the real Odyssey has runtime of 2h 52m

your NFO file says 1 h 26 min

wait a bit longer or the real webrip or Bluray rips to appear.

Just watched on Netflix Louis Theroux Inside the Manosphere, worth watching

Did the one you watch have Matt Damon, Zendaya, Charlize Theron? If not it's not the real one.

I'm looking forward to this. Should be available in a couple of weeks. Very long. Academy award winner director.

I have to agree with you, it wasn't very good. The casting of Matt Damon as Odysseus was a big mistake, IMHO. He buffed up for the part but Odyseus was supposed to be a force of nature and Damon just whined a lot and felt guilty about slaughtering the citizens of Troy. The final scene where he wipes out the suitors is kind of ridiculous. The casting of Helen of Troy was discordant but a non-issue really since she only had a few minutes of screen time. But it is what it is. I can't find much these days that's worth watching so I guess the zeitgeist has passed me by.

On a positive note, I thought Lucky was quite good, as others have noted. All of the acting was good but Anya Taylor-Joy was especially impressive. I didn't know that the FBI lets you bleach your hair or have facial hair but maybe times have changed.

Dropping now.

Real news. Why people think idiots on YouTube is where they should get their info escapes me

LG TVs caught spying even when offline or on

https://www.theverge.com/tech/991190/lg-tv-spying-standby-recording-wi-fi-scanning-gamers-nexus

LG smart TVs are almost constantly logging and uploading data about owners and their homes, even when offline or on standby mode, according to a new report from YouTube channel Gamers Nexus. The company’s TV sets scan Wi-Fi networks for nearby devices, record audio logs through their microphones, and use audio and video sampling to recognize exactly what you’re watching from across the TV inputs.

Best answer: Never plug your TV into the net. Use an an android TV box instead.

I use TV as monitor, not directly conx to internet. Wonder if still spies, though I really don't care as laptop camera & mic is not only disabled, but also behind the TV itself.

I use AdBlocker on all devices, so the ads are useless to me.
