What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2026)

OK, I am late to the (hockey?) game with this popular series.

Heated Rivalry.

Think a hockey soap opera with a Brokeback Mountain edge.

Gay pro sports players usually need to stay in the closet and that causes a lot of drama and tension.

The story has got me hooked in a light entertainment kind of way.

It was necessary to show sex scenes to tell the story. I guess you might call those scenes a kind of stylized soft porn.

Remember the "good old days" when it was a huge deal to show a same sex kiss on tv?

Saw that the movie "JAWS" was on BBC iPlayer and although I remembered the premise of the movie I didn't remember any of the detail, so thought I would give it a go......and so pleased that I did, as it was excellent and so very well made.

Last night I finished season 1 of Lucky and enjoyed it. IMHO, it was a pretty good performance by Anya Taylor-Joy who played the titular character "Lucky", Good support by Timothy Olyphant, who played her con-man father. Worth a look IMHO, It was recommended by @gargamon earlier in this topic.

Just finished watching this. Assassin, comedy, action. A little silly but I definitely never wanted to stop watching like a lot of stuff lately.

New Aussie show out.

Well I finished watching the 6 part series above.

It really is extremely well done for the lighter escapist entertainment genre.

The way they handled the (gay) sex scenes was groundbreaking.

Both super graphic (for tv) and yet no intention to arouse as actual porn does.

That's a neat trick as both leads are very beautiful men.

Just heard season 2 is coming in 2027. There will be a lot of heated anticipation.

I suppose the target audience is gays and women but with the sports theme, surely many straight men watched it too.

Also not to forget -- CANADIAN CONTENT.

Do you dare?

I tried watching 300 again, and this time made it to the end. It was that hi-contrast photo effect that got to me after a while. I never want to have to look at Gerard Butler's teeth again. Ever!

I too relly enjoyed it and even the end. The one here who gave up on it, was able to again confirm how out of thouch he is.

Watched it last night, after not watching after E01. But review above from @Mutt Daeng motivated me to watch the rest, and glad I did 👍

If you search the torrent trackers, or know how to get files from fanedits (I dont understand how) there is a awesome version of Jaws, called the sharkspoitation edit or something like, it takes the movie to a new level, its been rescored and an extra 30 mins tagged in there, one of the endings goes a bit crazy, but its an amazing project to see.

Generally better to ignore opinions from there.

A longtime circle of friends in their sixties is forced to confront the messy realities of life as marriages implode, new relationships ignite and old wounds resurface.

Season two six episodes available.

Thanks for the heads-up @LosLobo . I'll have a look at that.

First episode of season 2 of Dark Matter is dropping.

Short film on YouTube......the last person on earth.

Nice ending.

Didn't search how old it is, but I recently watched the 4 part series Lord of the Flies. It wasn't bad. 6.5/10.

RIP Piggy.

This one is from last year but new to me...

Paradise...

A Secret Service agent investigates the murder of a former president in a seemingly peaceful community.

I quite enjoyed season 1, season 2 hasn't got off to a great start but I'll give it another couple of episodes...

Yeah, season 2 was a letdown.

Same with Sugar. Meant to be a single season and was very good but was very popular and they extended it. Clearly now making it into a multi year drawn out tale where very little happens.

Saw this yesterday. No plot twists, poor casting, De Niro underperforming. Gone are the days when thrillers surprised you like in the 80s, this was just a depressing slog.

The ending was particularly ludicrous, Michael Keating gets naked to kill his son, because that's just what police would arrange, and what pedophiles do. Poor film.

Thank you both for the Paradise season 2 comments. I downloaded Paradise season 1 after @gargamon recommended it earlier in this topic but haven't got round to watching it yet. Will start season 1 tonight and then when I've finished, I'll decide whether to bother with season 2 or not.

I haven't watched it yet.

I think most could do without the spoiler.

Speaking for me I have little trust in any review you make. For that reason I will take a look and see if credability can be built
