A married couple in Udon Thani have reported a neighbour to police after he allegedly rode a motorcycle past their home and pointed a gun at them, claiming he was annoyed by the sound of their dogs barking. The incident has left the couple fearful for their safety and prompted police to investigate whether the weapon was real.

Police from Mueang Udon Thani Police Station were alerted to the incident on 8 January after receiving a report of a dispute involving a firearm. Officers went to Soi Prachasanti 17 in the Kao Chan 4 community, within Udon Thani municipality, to examine the situation and speak with those involved.

The complainants were identified as Mr Suttiporn Lueakkhamlai, aged 45, and Ms Uthaiwan Khonsue, aged 55, a married couple who own rental rooms at the location. They told police the man who allegedly threatened them was known as “Oh”, approximately 30 years old, who lives opposite their home about 50 metres away.

Ms Uthaiwan said the dispute had been ongoing for around two weeks, stemming from complaints about three dogs kept at their home. The neighbour reportedly demanded to know why the couple did not tell the dogs to stop barking, which she said was impossible as animals act naturally.

She added that verbal confrontations occurred whenever they encountered each other. About a week earlier, when she walked to a local shop and the dogs followed her past the neighbour’s house, he allegedly came out holding a rake and threatened to harm the dogs, warning that if talking did not work, people could be hurt as well.

The situation escalated on the day of the incident, leaving the couple afraid to leave their home. Ms Uthaiwan said they wanted police to help mediate so both sides could live separately without further conflict and asked officers to determine whether the gun was real due to fears of serious harm or damage to property.

CCTV footage reviewed by police reportedly showed the suspect riding a white automatic motorcycle without visible registration plates. At about 1.00 pm, he allegedly rode past the house multiple times, shouting insults and accusing the couple of allowing the dogs to bark.

Daily News reported that on the third pass, the man was seen slowing down, pulling out a gun and aiming it towards the house while shouting, “Is it not over?” before riding away. Police are continuing inquiries and considering legal action.

BS I completely understand the guy pointing the gun at the owners, at least he didn't blame the dogs or point the 'gun' at them, I have a house with 5 dogs opposite me that bark at everybody and anything that passes their house, to a point I can't hear my TV sometimes ........................dogs can be trained not to bark.
