Another tragic story. Why don't they get higher reelings? This happens to often and the police can't find any evidence for foul play.

The majority of railings are of a standard height all across Thailand and nothing unordinary low

Not really, it’s over and done with rather quickly.

That is not true at all. You will feel the terror and pain in the last moment.

How could you even say that ? You want to know a painless way ? Direct the exhaust fumes from your cars tailpipe into the drivers compartment. Get in, open a bottle of wine and get comfortable. That is how you do it. No pain, no mess.

Same thing happened in my condo in Jomtien last year. 88 year old did the Pattaya Plunge. I'm 76 now. If I make it to 88, I might be considering it, too.

Car exhaust is a far better way to go. I'd rather read about you going that way in true peace.

But I've already checked off just about everything on my Bucket List (if I had a Bucket List.) Life is still enjoyable for me, but once that changes...

Go peacefully with car exhaust. You could even rent a nice car for the occasion.

I know 2 people in their 90s. One has a mind as sharp as a tack, but has been bedridden for at least 5 years. The other is so damn healthy that I have invited him to my funeral (I'm 79), but his mind is going. Both are very happy to be alive.

Does anyone remember the guy who climbed the tower a couple of years ago here in Thailand? They tried to talk him down, but he stood up and did a beautiful swan dive. I think he enjoyed the fall. It reminded me of the Zen story where this guy is on a cliff, hanging by a rope that is about to break, and there is a hungry tiger waiting at the bottom. He sees a wild strawberry growing on the cliff and picks it.

A couple of years ago ? That was around 2013 wasn't it..

There’s not enough time to feel terror and pain at the last moment because death would have already passed before the brain could do the calculations.

Because having had a fifty foot fall, can say nothing was felt and had hit the ground before realizing that a possible injury may have incurred, luckily unharmed.

Obviously you’ve given this some thought, is it your planned way out by any chance?

Not intentionally. Though folks in early to mid stages of dementia tend to get annoyed and stressed out being around unintelligible noise.

Political discussions can have that effect on people.

I got into a head on car accident and was KO'd. People said "oh you didn't feel anything eh" Uh actually, I did feel something. I felt a sudden shock of pain as it happened that I can still imagine today.

It doesn't need to be given that much thought to know that there are more peaceful ways of dying than hurling yourself off of a tall building

Yeah, they likely are these days. You have to go back some years when the locals were somewhat tiny for the days of low railings.. they did exist though.

Did he even have a car/licence at 86?

I'm 84 and still like drive I also love to ride my bike a 1961 Triumph T120 650 Bonnie though only in the summer these days.

My Bonnie is my passion these days she's 20 years younger than me.

I first bought her on my 75th birthday as a present to myself and she now looks and is almost is brand new having spent a considerable amount of time and money restoring her to he former glory.

I always wanted one when I was younger but couldn't afford it. In fact I may even put it in my will that she be buried with me when I go.

I would hate to see her being abused or misstreated by someone who wouldn't know an e3134 from a sliced loaf.

Maybe when I get old I will stop riding her and feeling her throbbing under me while I'm flying through the air but it will be a hard thing to do.

Drugs are readily available, to even consider any other option.

Yes, very much so. How little you seem to know about the place.

Unless it's a construction issue, failure, balcony, railing or what ever, gives way, then you have to be extreme stupid, to fall off any balcony, whether having any railing at any height, or no railing at all. I equate all balconies as standing at the edge of a cliff. I don't lean over those either.

Sitting on, leaning on, putting any weight or pressure on any balcony railing is pure stupidity, unless you built it yourself. This applies to everywhere, not just TH.

Sh!t Happens
