Government Targets One Million Social Homes by 2030

Featured Replies

The government has set ambitious targets for localities to build one million social housing apartments for low-income individuals and industrial workers by 2030. This initiative is part of a broader socio-economic strategy to enhance social welfare and stimulate economic growth. The plan underscores the state's commitment to social justice and improved living standards.

The government's Resolution No 7/NQ-CP outlines social housing as a crucial political and economic task. Prior efforts have included 22 resolutions and 12 directives aimed at fostering housing development. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has actively led national discussions to address challenges and advance this agenda.

Under this strategic framework, noticeable progress has been achieved. Reforms in legal documents and administrative procedures have facilitated construction efforts, with 698 projects in progress by the end of last year. Among these, 193 projects have been completed, offering 169,143 apartments, while 200 new projects have commenced.

Despite these advancements, the goal of completing one million apartments by 2030 remains formidable. The government highlights the importance of collaboration with capable real estate firms, tapping into localities with high demand for effective implementation. This large-scale project is both a socio-economic catalyst and a measure of social progress.

Looking ahead, the focus will be on leveraging social resources and critical partnerships to meet or exceed targets. This initiative aims not only for housing development but also for ensuring social stability and economic fairness for the population, reported Vietnam News.
