Lasting Power Of Attorney

Featured Replies

Hi All. Can anyone assist with finding how to set up a 'Lasting Power of Attorney?

I am in Khon Kaen city, if that helps.

2 experiences with local lawyers have been most disappointing to say the least. So, I am looking for assistance from anyone who has done this and had good results.

Many Thanks

POA for ???

I've done a POA for handling sale of RE (land & house), which was honored at Udon Thani land office, for sale of said land & house in ex-wife's name, with no issues. Buyer also had his attorney review the POA, and found legit, and able to use for transfer. All good.

I did not use a lawyer to prepare the POA.

Was simple enough, and a fill in the blanks form the RE listing office provided, with 2 employees there witnessing (notarizing) our signatures, as that's all that is required, strangely. And yes, opens the door to committing fraud a wee bit too easy, IMHO.

That was ~17 yrs ago, so things may not be as lax, now, or at Khon Kaen, that location dependent thingy.

Do you mean a durable power of attorney as in American law? This can be used for a person on the verge of possible infirmity for another person to manage his/her affairs.
