A woman from Phatthalung was rescued after attempting to jump from the fourth-floor balcony of Krabi City Police Station on 17 January, triggering an emergency response by police and rescue workers. Officers found her sitting on the edge of the balcony, crying with her legs hanging over and immediately began negotiations to prevent her from falling. After about 20 minutes, she was persuaded to come back inside the building without injury.

The incident occurred at around 5.00pm at Muang Krabi Police Station, where patrol officers first noticed the woman’s distress. Rescue personnel from the Krabi Pitak Pracha Foundation were called to assist as police attempted to calm her. The woman was later taken to the ground floor to regain her composure.

Police identified the woman as Ms Suay, aged 43, originally from Phatthalung province and currently working in Muang district, Krabi. She told officers she was overwhelmed by stress after her criminal complaint showed no progress. Her distress was linked to financial losses involving a colleague and a rotating savings scheme.

According to police, the background of the case dates back to 18 December, when Ms Suay filed a complaint at the same police station. She alleged that a co-worker, identified only as Ms A, aged 25, had persuaded her to buy into a savings share for just over 10,000 baht. When the scheme reached its final payout, Ms Suay requested 12,000 baht including interest from the organiser, but payment was refused.

Ms Suay also reported that the same colleague borrowed her gold ring and pawned it without returning the money. The ring reportedly weighed one salung. Despite filing a complaint, she said the case had not progressed, prompting her to visit the station again on 17 January to follow up.

When informed that the investigation was still unresolved, she became increasingly distressed and went up to the fourth-floor balcony. Officers later said she appeared disoriented, speaking incoherently and showing signs of severe emotional strain. Police remained with her and contacted her boyfriend, who came to take her home.

Amarin reported that police have confirmed that the complaint remains under investigation. Officers said they will expedite the process by arranging another interview with the complainant. They also plan to issue a summons for the accused parties to appear for questioning as part of legal proceedings.
