Five sets of martyrs’ remains were recently discovered by Team K53 under the Military Command of Quảng Ngãi Province. The remains were located between January 12-19 in areas along the Cambodia-Laos border and in Attapeu Province, Laos. The immediate recovery facilitates DNA sampling efforts to identify the individuals.

The search began on January 12 near Marker 136 in Ta Veaeng District, Cambodia's Ratanakiri Province, where three sets of remains were found. Further efforts on January 17 led to the discovery of two more sets near Phooc Stream in Samakkhixay District, Laos. In both locations, the remains were wrapped in parachute fabric with additional personal items like belts and rubber sandals.

Despite challenging terrain and weather conditions, Team K53 has successfully recovered 15 sets of remains since the dry season began. Their work involves close coordination with local authorities and residents in both countries, highlighting the ongoing dedication to bringing fallen soldiers home.

Looking forward, Team K53 will continue their search efforts in the region, hoping to identify identities through DNA analysis. The Military Command of Quảng Ngãi Province remains committed to recovering and repatriating all lost soldiers.
