A Pattaya mother has appealed for the return of her teenage son’s headphones after CCTV footage showed a woman accompanying foreign nationals allegedly taking the item from a motorcycle accessories shop, prompting emotional distress for the boy and a police complaint. The incident has drawn local attention after the footage was shared in an effort to identify those involved and recover the property.

The complaint was filed, by Ms Saphaporn, accompanied by her 16-year-old son, Thomas, who is of Thai–British heritage, after the alleged theft occurred on 16 January 2026. According to the family, the headphones were taken from the cashier’s counter at a motorcycle parts and accessories shop located inside Soi Pornprapanimit  in Pattaya, while Thomas was helping at the shop because of his language skills.

Ms Saphaporn said the headphones, valued at approximately 15,000 baht, were a Christmas present bought by Thomas’s father. She explained that her son placed the headphones on the cashier’s desk while attending to customers and only realised later that they were missing. A review of CCTV footage showed a Thai woman, who entered the shop with foreign companions, allegedly picking up the headphones and leaving without permission.

The footage reportedly shows a Thai woman dressed in black entering the shop with one foreign man and one foreign woman. The headphones, described as black and placed near a white helmet on the counter, were allegedly taken at about 1.23pm before the group exited the shop. Further CCTV images from outside show the woman riding a grey-and-black Yamaha N-MAX motorcycle with a foreign woman as a passenger, while a foreign man followed on another motorcycle.

Additional cameras near Pattaya Klang Road and Sukhumvit Road reportedly captured the same motorcycle heading towards South Pattaya. Ms Saphaporn said a report has already been filed with Bang Lamung Police Station, but the family has also chosen to make a public appeal in the hope the item will be returned.

Ms Saphaporn said her son has not been cheerful since the headphones went missing, stressing their emotional value as a gift from his father rather than their price. She urged the person who took them to return the item, saying it was wrong to take property belonging to a child who studies and works part-time.

Police are expected to continue reviewing CCTV footage and gathering information to identify those involved. The family said they are willing to wait for the item to be returned voluntarily, while the investigation proceeds in line with the complaint already lodged.

More trash! This time only accompanied by foreigners. Seems like they are increasing in rapid speed. Find, get back the headphones and fine 30k baht. That ought to teach her.

I paid 5000 for my headphones, must be a special brand .

Possibly Bluetooth

For reference (Google)

You can find budget Bluetooth headphones that are more expensive than budget wired ones due to the added tech. However, the absolute most expensive headphones in the world, targeting ultimate sound quality, are specialized, high-end, wired audiophile models that far exceed the price of even premium Bluetooth headphones.

Bluetooth headphones cost around 2,200 baht (Chinese) or 7,900 baht (USA) here in Siem Reap. I have the USA ones.

It looks as if the people who took the headset bought something, or had something repaired at the store. There may be a record if they used a card to pay.
