Thailand is set to host the 45th Cobra Gold military exercise from February 24 to March 6, involving over 8,000 personnel from 30 countries. This joint defense operation, co-hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and US Indo-Pacific Command, is one of the region's largest and will focus on coordination across land, sea, air, space, and cyber domains.

The annual exercise, traditionally a platform for enhancing regional defense cooperation, sees Cambodia absent this year, while Vietnam and Laos join as observers. Participants include core members such as Thailand, the United States, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia. New participants this year are China, India, and Australia, along with other nations rotating through specific exercises.

Key activities are organized into command and control exercises, humanitarian assistance efforts, and field training exercises. Command and control drills will feature joint amphibious operations and space and cyber coordination. Humanitarian efforts include building multipurpose school buildings and disaster relief simulations, while field operations encompass live-fire, amphibious assaults, and various combat training scenarios.

The event not only strengthens military cooperation but also aims to improve disaster response readiness, enhancing diplomatic and strategic ties among participating nations. Last year’s Cobra Gold included 3,200 US personnel and involved nearly 30 other countries, underscoring the exercise's growing regional significance, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Over 8,000 personnel from 30 countries to participate in Cobra Gold.

  • Exercises to include diverse scenarios from combat training to disaster response.

  • New participants this year include China, India, and Australia.

Does that mean 1 person basically becomes a troop? Or did I get that wrong?

Ooooohh.... reminds me of Event 201 that happened right before the world was shut down in '20.

Just a coincidence I'm sure.

PREPARE ... potential psyop incoming 🤔

Wait, isn't onone of these countries on the US enemies list: China? Maybe prepare for peace instead of war? Just a thought. Wasteful squandering of resources. Walking Street will be happy...

Will Trump be coming to give a pep talk and check on oil possibilities in Cambodia and Thailand?

If Thailand is in Xi's pocket why do they partake in these exercises? The enemy when it comes will be China.

I think every country is on the US enemy list these days

If the troops are presented with shiny medals for participation, then Trump will make an appearance

Trump would love to come as he would no doubt be the biggest bestis baddest warrrior ever to fight but unfortunately he has a bone spur (gee can't remember which foot) that will force him to sit back in mar a largo and piss and moan and tweet about what pussys all the real soldiers are while he will try and sell a few more "super hero" memes of himself to the cult.
