Hi all,

I can't get my head around this 90 day business, normally i stay 30 days then go to laos and return and get another 30 days,

sometimes they highlight the stamp with either green, amber never had a red yet,

this year is as follows returned from laos 18/01/07 thru06/02/07

09/04/07 thru 08/04/07

04/07/07 thru23/07/07

25/07/07 thru 12/08/07

now i am planning either oct 12th to 26th oct and then 15th dec thru 30th jan

or nov 7th thru 10th jan using the laos visa run where needed,

will i have aproblem with either , never had a problem as yet but don't need all that grief.

also what visa would be best as i support my wie and kids in thailand,

thanks

Not going to do the math but appears you will be safe but the rule is not more than 90 days in any six month period can be on visa exempt entry. Visa entry does not count so it is always safer to have a visa (and less time consuming for everyone). If your wife is Thai take the marriage certificate/copy, birth certificate copy, copy of her ID card signed and dated and visit Penang or Singapore (and probably many other Consulate) to obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa. This will be valid for one year and allow unlimited entry for stays of up to 90 days at a time. It is the best visa for those working overseas and making frequent visits. Penang we believe requires 200k in a Thai bank account and Singapore 400k in any bank account. Other Consulates may not require (especially in home countries). But some will only issue single entry visa expecting you to extend it once in Thailand (assuming you are going to be living there).

Unless things change you will not be likely to obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa from Vientiane but a single entry would be available. Once married, and if you can prove 40k family income, the option to extend your stay by yearly visits to Immigration opens up.

Not sure you can get the registration done in that amount of time or not - believe same day service is available at extra charge but you also will need to catch a flight. Not sure of any time limit but suspect they would want the same year most likely. Why not have a translation service take care of the Ministry registration (I am assuming that is the registration you are talking about with the mention of Laksi and this not being November).

Now im confused , iwas told that i have to have the affirmation translated in to thai ( already done) then go to laksi and register , then i will have the freedom to marry in thailand,

i know my future wife can do this,, didnt know somebody else could, and on the website same dAY IS AVAILABLE AT A COST, AND WHEN I PHONED lAKSI THEY SAID NO MORE THAN 3/4 HRS

i just wanted to know if someone else has done this

thanks all
