My wife and I came to Thailand in October with our LTR in hand. The two months we spent there, Chiang Mai and Bangkok, were great, the Thai people were awesome. However, posts like this confirms why we won’t consider Pattaya for the longterm. It seems like a nonstop litany of drunken brawls, drugs and sex that has tainted what appears to be a beautiful beach location. Having grown up around beach communities, it looks like we’ll pass on this one. What a shame.

Financial of course being loans, not some generous gift, and pretty steeply priced too. " Eventual" it most certainly was. 1942, so 3 long years which perhaps would not have rankled so much if the general attitude and belief then and since by US is that they, and only they, won the whole thing single handed.

In fact if you head to Jomtien (a neighbor beach from Pattaya), things are much more mellow, including the long term expats and families who live in those condos.
