Shocking revelations from Michael Jackson’s autopsy have laid bare the grim reality of his body beneath the makeup, wigs and prosthetics. The King of Pop, famously secretive about his health, was found to be frail, scarred and riddled with medical issues after his death in June 2009. Strange cosmetic enhancements were also revealed. Jackson had his lips tattooed pink, his eyebrows tattooed black, and the front of his scalp tattooed to blend with his hairline. These details added to the picture of a man obsessed with maintaining his public image.

His knees and shins showed unexplained bruising. Cuts on his back suggested a recent fall. Even more startling, his wavy, shoulder-length hair was revealed to be a wig glued firmly to his scalp.

Beneath the wig, Jackson was almost completely bald. Only patches of “peach fuzz” covered his scarred scalp. A source told The Sun: “He was skin and bone, his hair had fallen out, and he had been eating nothing but pills when he died.”

The source added that injection marks and disfigurement from plastic surgery showed he had been in decline for years. Jackson is believed to have started wearing a wig after his hair caught fire during a 1984 Pepsi commercial shoot. The accident caused second and third degree burns to his scalp.

The incident at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles saw pyrotechnics ignite prematurely. Jackson was carried out on a stretcher with a bald, burning patch above his left ear. Many believe this marked the beginning of his reliance on powerful prescription drugs.

He was given strong painkillers to manage the burn injuries. His brother Tito later said: “He had been taking pain medicine because of the burns and evidently he got some kind of addiction from it.” That dependency would ultimately prove fatal.

The autopsy also confirmed long-standing speculation about Jackson’s changing skin tone. Examination showed mottled areas of light and dark skin, confirming he suffered from vitiligo. Dr Christopher Rogers said: “Some areas of the skin appear light and others appear dark.”

Paramedics’ desperate efforts to save him were also evident. Bruising to his chest and fractured ribs were linked to CPR attempts. These injuries showed the frantic final moments before he was pronounced dead.

Jackson’s feet, which he famously kept hidden, were also examined. Dr Conrad Murray later revealed in his autobiography that Jackson suffered from painful callouses and a severe fungal infection. He said the condition was so bad it looked like his skin was rotting.

Murray wrote that Jackson always wore socks because he was ashamed. After treatment, Jackson was amazed he could walk and dance without pain. Murray said the poor condition of his feet was a sign of serious self-neglect and failing care.

Jackson was a pretty decent looking guy in his younger years and once he became super famous and very rich he just turned into one of the most freakish people I've seen in my lifetime. It got to the point where it was painful to look at him, as he looked like some sort of alien, robotic, android construction experiment gone wrong. Yikes.
