Two foreign suspects were arrested in Udon Thani for breaking into a parked car and stealing cash and a gold accessory from a Thai woman. An Indonesian man and a Malaysian man were apprehended, while a third suspect remains at large. The victim, Napasorn, reported the incident after withdrawing 500,000 baht and leaving it in her SUV, only to return and find a window smashed and items missing.

The theft occurred on February 3 after Napasorn visited a shopping mall to pay a car installment. CCTV footage revealed three men on motorcycles observing bank customers and following Napasorn to the parking lot. The suspects, identified as 54-year-old Husin from Indonesia, and Malaysians Muhammad Rafuddin, 27, and Sulaiman, 45, plotted the crime after watching her deposit cash into an envelope.

Husin and Rafuddin were arrested while attempting to flee Thailand, but Sulaiman escaped. Rafuddin claimed they came to Thailand for a holiday but turned to theft when unable to withdraw money from ATMs. He alleged Sulaiman was the instigator, targeting Napasorn after seeing her withdraw a large sum.

Husin, emotional during interrogation, asked for forgiveness, claiming he was coerced. He offered to partially compensate Napasorn, stressing his family's dependence on him. Despite expressing personal forgiveness, Napasorn is pursuing legal action, relieved the larger sum was not taken, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Two foreigners were arrested for theft; a third suspect is sought.

  • CCTV captured their actions, leading to their identification and arrest.

  • Legal proceedings will continue despite a partial compensation offer.

Yep! Welcome to Thailand. Enter, swing by and steal something. End up in court, get deported and banned. Good idea!
