Immigration police in Pattaya have arrested a 56-year-old Iranian man wanted on an attempted murder charge after he allegedly rammed a car into a rival, causing serious injuries. The suspect, identified as Babak Khajesamanni, was detained at around 17.30 on 13 February 2026. He had been the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Pol Col Naphatphong Khositsuriyamanee, Superintendent of Chon Buri Immigration, and Pol Lt Col Kawinwat Arayasuriwong, Deputy Superintendent. Officers including Pol Lt Col Kittiphat Hongchuwech, Pol Capt Wirat Pattamawong and Pol Lt Pramot Fuengfung worked alongside Pattaya Tourist Police to investigate reports of foreign nationals committing offences in the area.

Authorities received information that Khajesamanni was hiding at a house in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Officers conducted surveillance and later observed the suspect leaving the property. He was arrested and shown the court warrant, after which he admitted he was the individual named and confirmed he had not previously been apprehended under the warrant.

Police escorted him to Chon Buri Immigration Office (Pattaya Office) for questioning and to formally record the arrest before transferring him to investigators for further legal proceedings. The warrant accuses him of attempted murder, causing bodily and mental harm to another person, and damaging another person’s property.

According to investigators, the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Khajesamanni and a rival described as being of mixed heritage. The two reportedly encountered each other by chance in Soi Thepprasit 8/3. Khajesamanni, driving a car, allegedly spotted the other man riding a motorcycle at speed and deliberately drove into him, leaving him seriously injured before fleeing the scene.

Investigators gathered evidence and obtained a warrant from the Pattaya Provincial Court. Immigration police said the arrest followed intelligence-led efforts to track down foreign suspects in their jurisdiction, in line with orders from senior officers.

Khajesamanni has now been handed over to the investigating officer to face prosecution under the law. Further legal proceedings will be conducted by the relevant authorities.
