UK Giffgaff sim

Featured Replies

Anyone having trouble their balance, looked on the site to check my balance should have been around 15 pounds it was ZERO.
Thought it might be my phone, so put the sim in a none smartphone and turned it off.
Put 15 pounds credit on it, next time I looked on the site it had gone down to 13.40.

On the Giffgaff forum other people have the same problem.

Just checked mine and it's ok, have you tried logging in and checking usage? presumably you send an sms or something every 6 months

I don't do this but the SIM seems to work again when I'm next in the UK, which is usually around 6 months later but a couple of times has been 12 months +/- a few days when family have visited me instead.

Made a rookie mistake last time I was in UK, put £15 on the phone & it was gone in less than 2 days, realised my gaff (pun intended) & bought a Data package which lasted me the remaining 3 weeks.

Back the UK next month for 7.5 weeks so hoping it's still working from my last visit in October (I'll be 3 days over the 6 months from the last time I was there), if not I'll just get a new one though I might try Smarty or Voxi next time as I've heard good things about them

You can get a giffgaff esim now so if i have issues with it I'll switch to that, but the sim should be fine as long as you use before 6 months, i send an sms. If back in UK yes definitely need to buy a monthly package or data will use the balance in no time

Asda do a PAYG sim.

That's what I have been using and cross fingers no issues similar to the OP.
