On one occasion in 2024, I processed a transaction for 20,000 baht. Screen went funny, no cash, spit the card out. Got a pic of the bizarre screen and watched the next person in line and they didn't get my 20000. later checked on Schwab and sure enough, they pulled the money out of my account. Called Schwab immediately to report it, figuring zero liability for me on this. Nope, Schwab went to SCB, SCB said "customer got the money" and Schwab said "sorry". I asked for video proof of the transaction, and of course, never got it. I've changed to Fidelity and Bangkok Bank. Fidelity reimburses 100% also, so I'm hoping to avoid the issues I had with Schwab/SCB.On Saturday afternoon I went to my local Bangkok bank ATM, I selected 25,000 baht, I heard the sound of the machine counting the cash it its own unique way, had my hand over the slot ready for it to open, it did not open and my card was given back to me.I then saw the message relating to a success in the 25k baht transaction on the screen, I then as usual received a message on my iPhone stating 25,000 baht had been withdrawn and then showed the balance.I tried to go into the bank but it was closed.I then checked the bank account on my iPhone app, 25k had not been deducted.I went to another machine and took our 25k baht and it worked, I check my bank app again and only one transaction for 25k had happened, a bit of a relief as though not life changing 25k is a lot to lose in one go.
