Hà Nội is offering free parking and transport for residents and visitors during the Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday to ease travel. Selected schools and central heritage areas will provide free parking, while metro journeys on the Cát Linh–Hà Đông and Nhổn–Hà Nội Station lines, as well as public bus services, will be free from February 14 to 22.

This initiative aims to support increased travel during Tết, a significant cultural celebration in Vietnam. The free parking includes spaces at Quán Thánh Temple and the Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám Culture and Science Centre, as well as designated school locations in Cửa Nam Ward, operating at various times from February 14 to 22.

Hà Nội Metro is offering free single tickets on its app and at ticket counters during this period. This aligns with the municipal traffic management and public buses waiving fares on 128 routes, enabling easier and cost-free travel across the city.

Looking forward, the temporary transport policies are expected to ease congestion during the holiday period. The effectiveness of these measures may pave the way for more such initiatives in future festive periods, reported Vietnam News.
