Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea. All went on and on. Soldiers returning with no arms or legs ended those wars.

Agreed.

(United States of) Americans in the main think what their news feeds tell them to think.

Quote, "Israel, the greatest source of instability in the Middle East – always has been since its inception....... ".

The more I think about it, the more I believe that Israel is the greatest source of instability in the Middle East and its insatiable desire to stay a state that follows its own strange brand of religion (braids for men who don't work but walk around chanting all day long, kippahs, the wailing wall, large brimmed hats and the belief that they are the chosen ones and more......) and wants to negate/wipe out any other state that doesn't follow its own peculiar path, should sound alarm bells.

Israel is the problem and all the while it wants to broaden its impact and state lines, the worse it will become for other nations in that area.

This is only a joke, but in reality, however the term "the chosen ones" came into being, it has created a "monster".

The colonial powers treated the middle east with contempt and violence during there misrule- indeed the CIA deposed the only democratic socialist goverment in Iran in 1954 whilst the British nicked their oil and paid them pennies on the pound for it. They know the west is not their friend. Many hundreds of thousands of Iraqui souls lie dead because of the US invasion - indded the slang term from US soldiers was rag heads. In my travels I have only been met by genuine kindness and help in musilm countries. Oh and there were no Iranians in the Epstein files. Funny that.

Apparently he was the most evil man in history - Trump's showing his lack of education there. But maybe we will diScover concentration camps that have slaughtered 6 million Christians deep in the mountains - I can't rule it out.

The other consequences of this ill judged foray is that the red line of not attacking the glass palaces of the Gulf has been broached, Dubai's wealth for instance is tied up in tourism and gleaming towers. Moving forward a few suicide bombers in shopping malls could kill that golden goose. Iran and its proxies are not defeated and could well turn more toxic as it lashes out at those it percieves has wished them harm. And these guys have showered Trump with gold and begged him not to go in.

But in the final analysis Israel triumphed. I would be heralding state visits from Russia and China and hedging my bets now. The US/Israel axis is damaging to their regional interests. Diplomacy is the art of making friends and not making enemies and advancing your interests - this ill judged adventure did neither.

This has made me laugh Richard Tice's (Reform MP) wife's Isabel Oakeshott who decamped to Dubai after her husband won the seat for Great Yarmouth saying Britain had fallen and writes all her copy for the Telegraph from there has suddenly got a touch of the eejee beebees.

Trump doesn't have to tell congress before, he has 48hrs to inform them and 90 day to do what he needs to do. Clinton and Obumer used it many times and nobody had an issue
Heres some reading for you,

The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (or Act) is a federal law intended to check the U.S. President's power to commit armed forces to conflict without Congressional consent. Passed over President Nixon's veto on Nov. 7, 1973, it requires notifying Congress within 48 hours of deploying troops and mandates their removal within 60–90 days unless authorized

So what was/is the national emergency?

The War Powers Resolution (also known as the War Powers Resolution of 1973 or the War Powers Act) (50 U.S.C. ch. 33) is a federal law intended to check the U.S. president's power to commit the United States to an armed conflict without the consent of the U.S. Congress. The resolution was adopted in the form of a United States congressional joint resolution. It provides that the president can send the U.S. Armed Forces into action abroad only by Congress's "statutory authorization", or in case of "a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces".

It is amusing that these folk who complain about immigrants in the UK, and supposed Islamification, take refuge in an Islamic country.

She is getting mercilessly trolled - the sancity of the Gulf was safe prime real estate in a low tax area. Iran has just upended that calculus as a result of US/Israeli agression and it could get worse, If the centre does collapse we could see a balkanistion of warring factions all heavily armed with access to high tech and a willing army of proxy fighters all over the ME. Just like Saddam's Baath army descended into mutiple Al-Quada groups an killed thousands of US troops.

These Gulf Staes aren't virtually impregnable fortresses like Israel but highly susceptible to assymetric warfare - literally shattering their post oil plans. They will privatley be cursing the Israel/US adventure. They have much too lose.

That's not only a very cold but also an extremely uneducated thing to say, considering the fact that Iran probably produces fewer terrorists per capita then most other nations in the Middle East. You probably don't even know this, but Iranians are not even considered Arabs, and the vast majority of Iranian people are secular and very moderate. Many are well educated and absolutely despise the extremist regime.

He can't mean it, no one is that racist and foolish.

You forgot to mention that the women are kept behind a curtain at weddings and celebrations.

Israel is a country built on religious fanaticism. They are most definitely the cause of instability and will not stop until they own all surrounding countries.

What war has Iran started in the last 100 years?

Iran (leaders) were at War with their own people, their own beautiful Iranians, so, so tragic.

It's heartbreaking, so glad Trump has given them their freedom.

When will you stop with your hostility, Iran and their people are happy now.

Why are you so anti the West?

Never forget the many millions oF death and destruction that US has wrought on the world since WW2 - 3.5 million in SE Asia for starts. See all theIR high minded pronoucments through that lens. They have created rivers of blood and left failed states in their wake. They are not the good guys - this ain't Hollywood.

The draft has been suspended for many years, so everyone serving today is a volunteer.
