Vietnam's National Authority of Tourism has instructed travel companies to halt tours to conflict-affected areas in the Middle East. This decision follows recent U.S.-Israel airstrikes and subsequent Iranian retaliation, which have severely disrupted travel activities and heightened safety concerns.

The authority urged tour operators to closely monitor developments and adhere to state advisories. The directive emphasizes maintaining contact with local partners and Vietnamese diplomatic missions for tours already in affected areas to ensure traveler safety and activate protection measures when needed.

Vietravel, a prominent tour operator, has activated its emergency protocol, reassessing trips linked to the Middle East. Currently, it has three groups in Dubai totaling 51 travelers and another group of 24 in Egypt. Due to flight schedule changes and airspace restrictions, these groups are staying safely at hotels, awaiting airline updates.

The company is in communication with airlines like Emirates and Qatar Airways for possible flight or itinerary alterations, assuring that customers preserving their flight payments will retain the full amount per policy. Meanwhile, major Gulf carriers have faced significant cancellations—41% for Qatar Airways, 38% for Emirates, and 30% for Etihad Airways.

Consequently, Dubai Airports have suspended operations at Dubai International and Al Maktoum airports until further notice. Similarly, Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport has also halted its operations, reported VN Express.
