Iran should set a priority to disable the US war ships. Sinking a US carrier would be an enormous victory and face loss for war criminal Trump.

Here you go again with your 2+2=5

To answer your question, only those killed in illegal wars or where the combatants broke international law, which I suspect means nothing to you.

Try to have a look at this post, before mouthing some more uneducated drivel.

the ship was part of a show and tell gathering in Sri Lanka organized long ago and was not part of any operation relating to current war.

Iran has targetted carrier USS Lincoln as their prize scalp. Iran hit the carrier with 4 cruise missiles when the carrier was 300 km from their coastline. Conflicting reports whether the carrier was hit. The carrier has since moved out of the cruse missile range or maybe for repairs. If Iran was to take down a carrier, it will inflict lots of casualties and will have a major impact that will shape the outcome of the war.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) did claim on March 1–3 that they fired four cruise/ballistic missiles at the USS Abraham Lincoln when it was roughly 250–300 km off Iran’s coast (near Chabahar in the Arabian Sea). They said the carrier was “struck” and then “fled” toward the southeastern Indian Ocean.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) immediately and publicly refuted this:

“The Lincoln was not hit. The missiles launched didn’t even come close.”

The carrier continues to launch aircraft in support of ongoing strikes on Iran (Operation Epic Fury).

No US, Israeli, or independent sources (including satellite imagery or open-source tracking) confirm any damage to the carrier.

The U.S. Navy has released timestamped photos and videos from March 2 and March 3, 2026, showing the Lincoln conducting routine flight operations in the Arabian Sea. The images show F/A-18 Super Hornets and F-35C Lightning IIs taking off and landing on a perfectly intact flight deck. If the ship had been hit by four cruise missiles, it would be physically impossible to conduct these operations

The USS Abraham Lincoln is still fully operational in the region (Arabian Sea / western Indian Ocean).

It has not moved out of range because of damage or repairs — any repositioning is normal operational movement for a carrier strike group.

This is classic Iranian information warfare — they make a big claim for domestic propaganda (“we hit America’s prize scalp!”) and the US immediately calls it a lie. There is zero credible evidence of any successful hit or that the carrier was forced to retreat for repairs. The Lincoln is fine and still in the fight. The Iranian claim is the equivalent of their usual exaggerated statements we’ve seen throughout the conflict.

For war mongers among you the ship was part of a show and tell gathering in Sri Lanka organized long ago and was not part of any operation relating to current war. Way to go USA blowing things up because you can. Little strategic planning just wild wild west stuff. How about focusing on getting millions of your citizens safely back home. Oops they didn’t expect Iran to blow up all their assets in the region. What’s scary is once they run out interceptors the aircraft carriers will be sunk putting thousands of lives in harms way.

I know this will be interpreted as being a nasty thing to say and I will likely be called a traitor by those that know I'm American, but I think I would enjoy seeing an aircraft carrier sunk as long as the soldiers could be rescued. Both Trump and his clown SEC DEF need an enormous amount of egg on their face at this point, and something like that would sure provide it.

Are the US Armed Forces invincible? Absolutely not.

Looking at the video, it was nearly a 'near mis', only hitting the rear of the boat.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd assume they would shoot for mid ship.

If only you understood what you're looking at.

No near miss, that torpedo is designed to explode under the target pushing the water vertically causing the ship to " lift" breaking its back. Thats exactly what happened.
We also got another one of their subs yesterday
You don't do that by aiming under the superstructure.

Control of Iranian airspace now belongs to the US and Israel. No further need for stand off weapons. Iran is about to be extensively hammered from this point on until all military objectives have been fulfilled.

Yes, the war against Iraq was based on lies about WMD but, as @JBChiangRai points out, Trump's reason for attacking Iran is that it presents an imminent threat to the US which is itself a lie.

The persecution of the Iraqi people under Saddam was also very real.

What's the difference between the two situations?

You clearly know very little about the UK.

You clearly know very little about Trump and the US maybe better you keep worshipping the eu and their fake democracy and leave the US to the American people to decide

I see your point. Let’s hope nobody gets hurt. But a bloody nose to this Administration may be just the medicine doctor ordered. Hoping the good people of USA will pull the leash on them.

It's not a troll. What I posted is what the situation now is. US and Israel have total dominance of Iranian airspace which means direct attack weapons can now be used.

Hegseth said complete control of Iran's skies to be achieved within a week. Nothing was said about complete control of the land which is the about size of Alaska and the 620,000 active military personnel and 1 million of reservists. Bombing of Tehran where most of the regime oppositions seem counter productive while the country side has the bulk of the regime supporters. An Iran drone cost about 30-50 k and took 3-4 Partriot missiles to intercept at a pop of $4 million each. Something just don't add up. Could that be a lack of thoughtful planning and strategy?

Control of the skies in Operation Epic Fury is enabling the Pentagon to rely more on satellite- and laser-guided bombs, throttle back on expensive long-range standoff munitions, and move to a new phase of air war, defense officials said March 4.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine said the degradation of Iran’s air defenses had enabled the U.S. to achieve air superiority in the southern part of the country, enabling strikes deeper inland.

“This progress has allowed CENTCOM to establish localized air superiority across the southern flank of the Iranian coast and penetrate their defenses with overwhelming precision and firepower,” Caine said. “We will now begin to expand inland, striking progressively deeper into Iranian territory and creating additional freedom of maneuver for U.S. forces.”

p.s. Yep not total dominance ... YET.

Overwhelming precision is bit of a stretch when a Iran primary school was bomb killing around 150 students. Children must not be collateral damage in bombing. This sway public opinion negatively on USA and Israel which is already a pariah.

Where Trump's actions have a purely domestic US effect, I make no comment; that's a problem for you Americans to deal with. However, unfortunately many (most?) of the US President's decisions and actions affect the rest the world, hence the legitimate interest and comments from we non-Americans.

Throwaway lines such as, " ..keep worshipping the eu and their fake democracy ...", have no value unless you can supply an argument to support them, something which you have completely failed to do so far.

Satellite images show the location of the school in or next to an IRGC base.

"The bombing of an Iranian elementary school that killed some 165 people, many of them schoolgirls, included more targets near the school than has been initially reported, a review of commercial satellite imagery by NPR has found.

The images suggest that the school was hit on Saturday as part of a precision airstrike on a neighboring Iranian military complex — and that it may have been struck as a result of outdated targeting information.

The new images come from the company Planet and are of the city of Minab, located in southeastern Iran. They show that a health clinic and other buildings near the school were also struck. Three independent experts confirmed NPR's analysis of the additional strike points."

It is a scale.

He has done some good , but the scale is leaning over to all the bad things he does.

Mind you things would be worse if hillary was president or the cackling cow.

It stays the war mongering uniparty.

The ship was no where near Iran and in International waters why the Yanks attack it ? and it was a poor shot should have hit it Mid -ships. Strike it there it will break its back and split in 2 pieces.

It did split in two visible in the footage. As for being nowhere near Iran it's naval warfare. What does being in international waters have to do with anything?

Torpedos are very expensive weapons in this day and age I’d be flabbergasted if that weapon wasn’t smart.I’m sure it was acoustic/magnetic/and most likely pressure sensitive as well. it exploded under the target breaking the targets back textbooks perfect. The navy is eliminating threats to shipping as they should in Donald’s war.

Wonder what the response would be if a American destroyer was hit and sunk on its way to the gulf.
