Use kbank debit card for payment uk passport renewal at vfs Bangkok.

Featured Replies

Has anyone used ther kbank debit card when paying for their uk passport renewal thru vfs Bangkok recently and if so did they encounter any problems?

I would like to use this method and in preparation have enabled online transactions via the app and registered for the "verified by visa" service.

It would appear from my research this should be easily possible but would be interested to know the experiences of other posters especially if I have missed anything.Thanks.

I completed the payment form for my UK Clarity credit card, back in the UK the payment came out a few days later, not sure if there is an option to pay at VFS

According to my research you have to use the required payment form for a credit/debit card at vfs.I was just wondering if there were problems using a kbank debit card.

Now I am confused.Do I not have to fill in a payment form to hand into vfs as part of my application like I did last time?

Yes, that payment form gets sent to UK along with everything else, VFS doesn't make payment

I used a SCB debit card with no problem for my passport renewal.

As long aa the debit card has your name on it and dont say something like "privileged member".... If card not in your name then used web card from the app.

I'm not sure if this is relevant but... two years ago I used my Bangkok Bank debit card to pay. Things went fine at the office and the payment form with all the other paperwork was checked and accepted and sent to the UK. Some time later an email arrived from the passport office refusing my debit payment. My daughter in the UK paid for the new passport for me.

Thanks my card does say 'privileged member'.Back to the drawing board.

P.S. When I registered with kbank "verified by visa" service I was informed I could shop online immediately using my debit card.

Thanks did she complete the payment form in the UK and send it to you in Thailand by email?

While my current Kasikorn Bank debit cards have my name on it, I'll say this: When I had cards from them that said "Privileged Member" in the past, I did use them for many online payments, always stated my actual name (as opposed to "Privileged Member") for "name on card" - and that was never a problem! They either verified the name against the actual account holder name or they didn't verify it at all.

Thanks.

I definitely used it (Kasikorn) successfully and my card at that time (2024) had "privileged member" on it.

Make sure in the App that you have high limits set for the card. Make sure that international transaction is set to on. And you have to hope that the security algorithm of Kasikorn that analyses your account's usage will not block the transaction.
