For a defenseless and disarmed adversary that is continuously inflicting retaliatory damage taking an essentially deserted island containing targets of massive inflammatory self inflicted potential strikes would there be any advantage?

Iran has long prepared for this aggression since witnessing what happened to Iraq when it too had US backing in a failed war and was then rendered a lackey state.

It seems to be conveniently forgotten or ignored that the current Iranian regime came about as the result of previous interference in the monetary interests of foreign powers. While the population may not fully appreciate the Islamic overlords there is cultural rememberance of the vicious dictate of the US installed Shah.
