Vietnam's Noi Bai and Da Nang International Airports have climbed in the world's top 100 airport rankings, surpassing major hubs such as Beijing Daxing and JFK. The London-based consultancy Skytrax released the 2026 World Airport Awards on March 18, ranking airports based on passenger satisfaction surveys. These surveys evaluate services and experiences ranging from check-in and arrivals to security and departures.

Noi Bai in Hanoi advanced eight spots to 71st, while Da Nang jumped nine places to 75th. Improvements at Noi Bai include enhanced facilities like phone charging stations, free Wi-Fi, and accommodations for travelers with disabilities. The T2 international terminal's expansion at a cost of VND5 trillion (US$196.4 million) added more check-in counters and scanners, increasing annual capacity to 10-15 million passengers.

Da Nang International's T2 terminal received a 5-star rating from Skytrax for two consecutive years. This recognition is due to the airport's integration of advanced technology that minimizes waiting times and improves the passenger experience. Despite its large terminal, Beijing Daxing ranked 82nd, and JFK in New York ranked 85th.

Changi Airport in Singapore was honored as the world's best, with Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Haneda following. The improved standings of Vietnamese airports spotlight their efforts to enhance passenger experiences and service quality.

Future developments will likely focus on maintaining and building upon these improvements to support Vietnam's growing tourism industry. Continued upgrades and technology advancements are expected to play a crucial role in sustaining these rankings in upcoming years, reported VN Express.
