It sounds interesting Ignis. A couple of questions:-

1) What's the initial outlay?

2) How big is your dish?

3) Do you keep the signal all day / year round?

4) Do you have full sports coverage (football / rugby)?

Many thanks.

I wanted Everything, so can view ALL the satalites so have both the 'KU' and 'C' bands on the 'MOVE' system, I paid 32,900 baht, that was with another set top box in the bedroom, and wall/roof mountings for the dish..... now are cheaper... Last year paid another 11,500 for the Dreambox [internet connected] and the cableing to one of the spare bedrooms for the old set top box

My dish is 3.2m

Yes I have a signal 24/7.. 365 days a year.

Yes have FULL sports coverage......... of the 2,600 odd channels I have over 100 dedicated to Sport around the world, over 200 dedicated to radio around the world, have over 300 in English only from around the world

What noteworthy channels do you receive in English ? What sports channels do you receive for EPL games, do they have half time shows with credible pundits and can you still receive thai channels or maybe channels with thai subtitles similair to UBC movie channels. would love to hear more regarding these subjects please

I have a 3 m satelite dish with a multichoice card from SA the rugby is great True UBC could not organise anything regarding rugby. They have channel 29 which says rugby coming and channel 67 says the same, and they actually play it on either ESPN or Star Sport which is brilliant if you want to record it. You wouldn't have a clue which channel to record.

The have their head in the sand. But in the meantime they complain to Dstv in SA that they are pinching their customers while they don't have a clue how to deliver real service to a large group of rugby enthusiasts with cable/KU band in Thailand. But soon they will manage to screw up the little rugby viewing privilige we have at the moment. Most sports bars in Thailand have SA Dstv because TRUE/UBC think providing 6 channels of soccer is what everyone wants to watch. Maybe in Buriram or Roiet but many intelligent people with a little money watch Rugby and have to go outside Thailand to get coverage. Even in "soccer countries" they still manage a balance of sports including cricket not something I like but there should be a choice and in Thailand there is actually none. The funny thing is it costs about 650 - 700 US$ for a SA Dstv Card but the only thing people watch is Sports nothing else - you would think that would send a meesage to UBC but guess what - not at all.

Cancel any cable/satellite tv agreement you have, and sink the money you save into the fastest internet service available (even if that means "business class" service). There are numerous sources for music, video, movies, etc on the internet that are popping up each week.

Netflix offers movie downloads (all that is needed is a credit card to subscribe). NBC (in the US) will soon be offering free downloadable tv shows (with ads). Undoubtedly other broadcasters will follow suit; perhaps the BBC already offers such service?
