Aussie Faces Murder Charges in Pattaya

So this is Ms. Cake's friend confronting Carman about her missing friend who by this point is already dead and in the bathroom.

Why could no one tell her friend whether or not Cake had checked out? Because Cake was never checked in.

As the ABC article states the day after she went missing. so the suitcase had already been dumped by the railway line the previous evening

I assume shortly after this visit is when the friend decided to report Cake as missing to the police

Agree. When the friend arrived the body had already been removed the previous evening. My guess as earlier Carman told the friend Cake had been there and left because that's the first version he later told the police.

The detailed timeline of events is as follows:

June 25, 2026

  • Early Hours (approx 03:30 a.m.): CCTV footage recorded Carman and the teenager holding hands as they entered his rented condominium on Jomtien Second Road.

  • Prior to Death: Tunchanok sent a final text message to a friend saying she had arrived at the apartment but noted the room was messy. Police allege she was strangled shortly after.

  • 09:25 p.m. to 09:48 p.m.: CCTV captured Carman dragging a large black suitcase out of the building. He loaded it onto a motorbike and drove towards the railway line.

  • 10:00 p.m.: Carman returned to the condominium. [1, 2, 3]

June 26, 2026

  • 11:36 a.m.: Tunchanok's friends, unable to contact her, lodged a missing person report with Pattaya police, informing them they last saw her with a foreign man.

  • Afternoon: Police gathered CCTV evidence, identified the suspect, and began preparing an arrest warrant. [1]

June 27, 2026

  • 01:15 a.m.: Thai Immigration Bureau and Pattaya Police apprehended Carman at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, just as he was attempting to board a flight to Perth. [1, 2]

  • 01:30 a.m.: Police discovered Tunchanok's naked body inside a suitcase left in waist-high grass near the railway tracks in Soi Chaiyapruk 2, roughly a 10-minute drive from the suspect's hotel. [1, 2]

One post said he'd forgotten his passport in the rush to escape

I lived there for 20 years and suspected that many men do this. Promise a certain amount of cash and then 'stiff' them when payment is due. For example promise 2,500 Baht and then only pay 1,500-2,000 after. Pattaya is probably a cheap-charlie-magnet.

In the intial report it said, that this guy offered 500 TBH less, because she said she was on her period, but she did not accept the lower rate he said he offered. For what its worth, as obivously 500 or a 1000 TBH is not worth to kill someone over

Yes -- but it seems he was able to buy a JetStar flight ticket and was queued up at immigration departure.

You can buy a ticket without a passport just can't go through security

Trying to warn other sex workers to be cautious? Weird final statement.

Reporting from the Bangkok Post and other major outlets confirms that Thai police are actively investigating potential links between the suspect, Simon Peter Carman, and TWO other unsolved suitcase murders in the broader region. In each case the suitcase victims were young women found naked inside suitcases, with their clothes, shoes, and personal belongings packed in with them—matching the exact condition in which the 17-year-old victim's body was discovered.

I first visited Thailand in 1985 when I was 20 (it was a week after Live Aid).

As far as bar girls went, I heard it said a few times "If she's no good don't pay her." And that was some bar owners.

I thought that was way-open to abuse, especially knowing how many cheap-Charlies there are there.

(Happy hour in Soi Cowboy was 25 Baht/drink. There was still the 'wow-factor' in Thailand. As in, "Wow, it's so cheap here!")😊

Yes it does. 100%

Did he deliberately strangle her to kill her, or was it an accidental death ?

  1. Accidental death.

  2. Pack it up in a suitcase.

  3. Dump it some where.

  4. Buy an air ticket hurriedly and get the hell out of the country.

Are there really any deliberate murders committed on this planet?

Choking someone until they stop breathing? yep accidental

500 TBH - what an invaluable offer. He must be a trillionaire, multiple times.

It's fascinating how people who share the same ideology can become completely blind to reality. Whether the facts support their views seems almost irrelevant. "Shameless" comes to mind... but perhaps there's an even more fitting word for that level of selective blindness.

But why the hurry. Some here says it can be accidental - I mean us AN members can never be wrong?

(still finding a better synonym to shameless)

A typical hansom, brave aussie, acting in self defense from a 17 year old child. Yea, its possible - cos a hansom, brave aussie would never do anything like this!

Sometimes it seems how society labels humans.

Developed world, undeveloped world, developing world, 3rd world, 1st world etc etc.

Who coins these lovely terms?

Ironically, the worst scum comes from the upper stratosphere.

Some people participate in asphyxiation , which forces the body into hypoxia , and they breath again just before they die .

Maybe he was trying that ?

Its been reported he's done asphyxiation on other girls

OK go ahead. Gotta justify the murder and save the bas*****

The child is a disposable object according to asphyxiation practitioners.

Great - KUDOS to you for trying.

Its quite important to find out whether he deliberately killed her, was that his intention ?

Try to discuss it civilly without losing your temper

Well done, top marks to the friend .

Had the friend not tried to contact the deceased , not gone to the condo and not informed the Police , he would probably have been able to get back to Australia

No, nothing to do with that, this guy was brainless, he has mental health issues, he's a retard.

An Aussie retarded piece of s**t.

Does anyone know his heritage, his ancestry?

True -- as I now understand the timeline, it doesn't seem that, up until that point, he was in any hurry to exit Thailand.

As reported by pretty well everyone who's had contact with him, he's a very slow walking, talking and decision-making loner. He had suffered a brain injury and is on disability in Australia. He had been considered unsuitable for a gun license, and his guns had been seized. He should be kept away from the public for a very long time if not permanently.

For me, another major crime was to use a West Coast Eagles AFL jersey to cover his handcuffs! I'm sure the sponsor wouldn't be happy to see their name displayed by him. (LENDI)

Depends which tabloid you read.

Some claim he is Aus born.

Others claim he is British born.

If the Latter, maybe he holds two passports.
