As I've always said and sadly I'm hated by a few here for saying it, but the only bad thing about Thailand, the worst thing, are some of the foreigners.

20 years in Thailand -- 16+ full time on NonO visa -- and the "Pirates" from many destinations have always given us all a bad name.

I'm missing something here, where does it say about either of them working in a bar.

Him. From the original story......

described him as a quiet resident who worked as a handyman and at a local bar

Her. Never mentioned, only reference is to the "Coconut Bar"

A bit odd, why would a bar employ a new to town farang without a work permit. Probably meant he had done the occasional repair for them.

Thanks for the info.

Must pay more attention in future.

One need not be out and about on Pattaya's Beach Road to hear all sorts of things about this heinous case.

I live in Bangkok. My Thai staff is following this story closely, as all manner of "facts" have appeared in various online Forums. Half of my staff is female, and they are young. Even if none of them has ever engaged in the world of P4P, this crime resonates with them because the victim is kind of their peer group, even if a decade younger. What is fact and what is fiction---or more importantly what is widely believed as fact---is difficult to determine. What is absolute fact is that this crime has captured the attention of people across the country, especially young females.

Anyone who has regular contact with Thai people is going to hear much about this case. That @Somjot has heard things and posted what he heard is common for people who work among Thai people, though perhaps not so common for folks isolated in the foreigner community.

While over time the real facts will come out, the sad reality is that a very young Thai female, who doesn't seem to have had the best life even before last week, had her short life end horribly. That justice will probably be served can never make up for what she suffered.

So jungle drums heresay and chinese whispers then.

Photos reveal room where Australian man allegedly murdered Thai teenager

Photos obtained by the ABC show Ms Tunchanok's unnamed friend inside Mr Carman's cluttered hotel room the day after she went missing.

So this is Ms. Cake's friend confronting Carman about her missing friend who by this point is already dead and in the bathroom.

Why could no one tell her friend whether or not Cake had checked out? Because Cake was never checked in.

The only complaint, the only whinge, whine or moan you'll ever hear from me about Thailand, are the foreigners.

I Love Thailand for what it is, what it has to offer.

It's a little rough around the edges, like myself, that suits me fine.

Large old men exploiting tiny young local girls... reprehensible, isn't it?

Your obsession with LB’s is very telling and quite disturbing.

Telling of what? i know how often they get in fights in walking street and deceive foreigners. Are you an LB lover getting defensive?

My guess is Carman told the friend that Cake was here and then she left and there no records to show otherwise.

Unless there was more than one friend at the beach at the time of pick-up, all media reports state 19 year old male.

Obviously not, if her friend actually entered the room. Nong Cake would have communicated with her friend to confirm that she was okay. Her friend knew something was wrong. The sight of the miscreant sneaking out of a back entrance with a suitcase confirmed their worst fears.

Looks even more like an LB from the front, what do you see?

What I see is simple: There is no record of her having checked out because there is no record of her having checked in.

A 19 year old male.

Troll post removed @Andrew Dwyer if you post an image again trying to expose another poster’s ID, then expect further moderation action.

I see a big scar on the back of his head from brain surgery, after he had a brain injury. The doctor mustn't have done a good job. 🙂

Who took the pics of the blonde LB in Simon's loom ?

You see a male not a LB? males don't usually look like that

It's a murder thread, not a "prostitution offends me" thread.

Is it that reprehinsible if it's the only way she can make money to support her family?

A bit of history about the Perth guy.

His guns were confiscated in Australia.

He was a truck driver on disability.

Trying to warn other sex workers to be cautious? Weird final statement.

Thai police told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that Carman also claimed Donhomla had "disappeared from the room" while he was asleep.

Lucky the friend is alive
