Which App Can I Use To Open This In Mac Osx?

Featured Replies

What do I use to open

The Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci — Complete by Leonardo da Vinci TXT Format -LegalTorrents.rar

Also have downloaded components to open xvid and avi

XviD_Codec-r58 (Intel).component

and

AviImporter-r7 (Intel).component

read the Readme but

"To install this Component, just drag the Files "XviD_Codec-r58.component" and "AviImporter-r7.component" into Library/QuickTime. The Library directory can be found either at your Home directory (to install it just for the actual user) or at top-level of your startup volume (this needs an administrator account). DO NOT INSTALL IN: /System/Library/QuickTime"

didn't seem to apply as although I have Quicktime there is no chain Library/QuickTime

What do I do chaps?

To unpack the .rar archive try http://www.unrarx.com/ :o

I'll let the experts answer the other query (not a Mac person).

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I assume you have no library/quicktime in your user directory (I don't either). There should be one for the system though at /library/quicktime/.

If you don't have admin access to the computer, just create the QuickTime directory in your user library folder. Quick Time should find it there.

1 - I use zipeg. Google for it.

2 - Open new Finder window. Click on your main hard drive. Open Library folder. Open Quicktime folder. Drop those files there. If you don't have a Quicktime folder, just create a new one. See pic.

For the Rar files I use Stuffit Expander, also handles zips, and many other formats. Just drag the Rar file onto the Stuffit Icon, drop and voilà!

As for Avi. I thought quicktime already handles it fine! For XviD or DivX Avis, I use DivX Player, that also come with DivX Converter!

Hope this helps..

BTW I use these all on a 15" MBP.

the correct path is in the root directory

/Library/Quicktime/
