What kind of schools do ask the least in terms of commitment ? Since I am new to teaching I want to look around a little bit and I don't want to commit myself by signing a contract, just in case working conditions are "disappointing", or in case I will find a better teaching opportunity.

1. English First

2. ECC

3. Siam Computer

4. BCC

5. Mc Donalds

6. 7/11

7. Teaching bar girls English

Most decent schools will want you to sign a contract. Usually a probationary period of 3 months seems to be the norm where either you or the school can cancel with 1 weeks notice.

It's a serious question....

And I gave you a serious answer. I am in a position to hire teachers, and I certainly will NOT go through the time and expense of hiring and training a new employee just to lose him/her because s/he just wanted to "try out the job." You wanted a list of places that required no commitment. I gave you one. Now either grow up and make a commitment to a job, or be a child and take piecework. Better yet, go back to your home country.

We're usually pretty strict about letting folks say "if you don't like it, go home." In this case, I'll strictly allow it, because Wangsuda knows his stuff.

The OP sounds as if he only wants to get by, doing the least he has to, and if that's his attitude, he won't last long here.

Louis once remarked (before he'd seen half as many teachers) that the old folks were the first to quit. I think now he'd more likely admit it's the youngsters.

Saw this thread just before the 2 above posts and was gonna comment:

Oh great, just what the kids need, another so called teacher who doesn't care about them and is only trying to do a job that he probably doesn't know anything about simply for his own selfish reasons.

...or similar. Ah I will anyway.

Sorry, PB. I'm off my high horse now.

I don't think OP is looking for the more serious places, WS, but rather the places where high turnover is more or less expected- and he got a good list of them, too! :o

I disagree. I firmly believe that 7-11 is always staffed with dedicated and career minded employee,s.

He gave you a serious answear. The least commitment is taking a part time job in a language centre. Hence, EF, ECC, etc..

Any decent school is going to want to see some commitment, as wangsuda has said look at some picework if you want to have a look around.
