Thai Tourism Aothority Questionnaire?

Featured Replies

Hi,

On Friday (the 28th) I had about an 8 hour stint at the Suvarnabhumi airport (arrived at DM airport at about 8:30am and my international flight left at 5:30pm). We were sitting in the check-in area, waiting for checkin to open on our flight when a guy approached me saying he was from the Thailand Tourism Authority (he had an official looking badge etc) and he asked if I could fill out a questionnaire. At first I said I didn't really want too but he said "I'm from the tourism authority of Thailand!" as if that was meant to have some significance. So - I filled it out, but the questions seemed to get quite involved. Didn't ask for names or anything, but it wanted to go into detail about where I stayed, how much a night it cost me, how much I paid in total for accomidation, how much money I spent on shopping and what types of things I bought.... did I buy any Thai silk and if so how much did it cost etc.

He didn't hang around while I filled it out - he sort of moved away a bit and sat down elsewhere whilst I did it.

Not saying he wasn't on the level or anything, I just felt a bit uncomfortable with the questions it was asking so I only answered them in very vague ways. Just thought you may be interested if you get the same! :o
