My Thai wife (Thai passport) and our 5 month old baby (Swedish passport) is visiting her family in Thailand and plan to stay for abt 4-6 months. We forgot to apply for a 60/90 days tourist visa for the baby before they left from Sweden, I am still in Sweden and plan to join them later this autumn.

On arrival at Don Muang she asked the immigration officer if the baby can stay that long time in Thailand and got the answer: 'No problem as long as she stay with you', and they stamped the babys passport with the normal 30 days.... so now we are facing the question of what is the best/easiest to do.. and I hope someone in the forum can give advice.

They live close to Aranyapratet so it could be easy to go to Cambodia every 30 days and get a new stamp there.

- Do they need to get a visa to cross the border for some hours to Cambodia? Do both need a visa? Cost? Where to get the visa?

- Is it possible to extend the babys tourist visa at the immigration office in Aranyapratet? Cost?

The immigration officer answered your wife. No problem. Don't worry about the stamp. There is no overstay fine. Baby does not have to make visa runs.
