Networking Software

Featured Replies

I've recently setup a small network and would like to know if there is software available that would allow me to control the amount of bandwidth given to individual machines.

For example. On one old computer I only want it to connect to radio, so it requires about 58Kbps.

Cheers...

you'd need to set one computer up as a gateway/proxy server.. I think microsoft do some sort of package :o

set up a nix machine as a gateway with nat/port sharing/forwarding installed.

use a proxy like squid or oops with delay-pools enabled.

Thx for you replys so far. Is not possible, however, to set the speed at the machines instead (currently the computers attach to the router, then directly to the access point - and considering the problem I had just setting that up I really don't want to go through it all again!!!)

Cheers

What router - some have QoS onboard that will define bandwidth per node with some fiddling.

Go to this site and I believe that you will find what you are looking for
