My last Work Permit was cancelled in May 2007 by my previous employer, who then gave me a small grey paper which was the cancellation of my work permit.

I didn't look for a new job right away, but decided to travel in SE Asia for a few months. I later moved to Bangkok. I am about to start a new job early next month, and my employer will apply for a work permit on my behalf.

My problem is that somehow, while living out of suitcases, my work permit cancellation paper was lost/misplaced.

Should I expect any trouble when applying for a new work permit at Bangkok Immigration?

Probably not. Same thing happened to me when i changed schools. It was queried by the Labour Dept but school admin simply stated it had been lost. It was no problem.

Labour depts issue WP,s. Not Immigration

Be aware though that this was Chonburi province............Bangkok Labour Depts may see things slightly differently.

Cheers for the quick reply, stevemiddie! And yes, I meant of course whether the Labour Dept. in Bangkok was likely to give me a hard time.

Probably not. Will you have a Thai from the place of employment with you?

Yes, sure. A girl from HR will go with me there. She seems to have experience with the paperwork.
