Miami Consulate

Featured Replies

I am an American citizen. Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a Multiple Entry Non Immigration O from the Thai consulate in Miami? And what documents are needed?

Thanks.

On what basis? For marriage don't know what would be required as there don't seem to be many reports.

The last time I dealt with them, they told me they now only issue visas for Florida residents. That was in March of this year.

Could you define Florida resident? PP shipped to FL address I presume. Is it possible to get a non-o for a long-stay? I think that was the original querey.

You will have to fill in an application form, as at any Embassy/Consulate.

The form is going to ask for your current address...............

Are you prepared to lie?????????

You need a Florida address. The required documentation is clearly stated on the visa application, downloadable from the Thai Embassy. For up to date information, you might try calling the consulate.

Apparently, the Thai Embassy DC has put the word out to the honorary consulates to 'tighten up,' to include territorial edicts. The following is from Patayaexpatsclub and is a response from the Honorary Consulate Denver:

We are trying to tell customers who are trying to obtain a visa, to go to their

nearest consulate within the state they reside in. We will accept travelers

who are within the state of Colorado or neighboring cities who do not have a

consulate in their area.

We are trying to make customers understand that we will not be issuing

visas as easily as we had in the past due to the changes that have taken

place since October 2006. We are trying to follow the rules the best we can

per the Thai Embassy.

We do not want customers misinformed that we can issue ANY TYPE of visa

easily if requested or we will take applications from those who

reside outside our area. We will try to ask the customer to provide as

much documentation as possible pertaining to the type of visa applied for.

I don't think all the Honoraries are marching to this, however.

I am living in Thailand the last few years, however I do have a Florida Drivers License and the address on my drivers license is a house owned by my parents... Do you think this would qualify me as a "Florida Resident" or do you think they will look through my passport, notice I have been spending 11 months a year in Thailand and deny me the Visa?

Thank You

I suspect they would notice. As for the drivers license you can change that to a Thailand address if you want - comes in handy when setting up bank accounts as it proves your mailing address.

Can you please give me the url. Thanks.
