arthquake felt in Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai - An earthquake measured at 5.7 on the Richter scale was felt in Chiang Rai early Friday, the Chiang Rai Meteorological Office reported.

The quake was centred at the border area of Laos, Burma and China and happened at 2:05 am. It was located about 200 kilometres north of Chiang Rai or at 21.54.30 Latitude, 100.54.54 Longitude.

Somwang Rungtrakulchai, Chiang Saen district chief, said the quake could be felt on upper floors of high buildings in the province.

Maybe you guys should have a pinned earthquake report thread! How many has it been the past 6 months?

**edit***Well, a search of the forum shows a fair amount.

Hope all you get are smaller shakers like this one. :o

Err... we had an earthquake thread once and it was shifted to general or somewhere. We try to hide them now. :o

No, you had an earthquake thread about a specific earthquake that was already posted on another part of the forum (memory like an elephant :o)

What I mean, is a Earthquake in CR pinned thread --any interest or do you think no one would check it and still just start a new thread about the latest earthquake?

They're not actually a daily occurrence and people who rush to report them don't usually think about pinned threads. I think they would get more traffic left as they are.

Rats - (maybe what's in my pipes) -

missed that one

must be the wet cool (cold?) wehater.

makes for great sleeping!

should I have posted this in weather in CR? am I bad bad for referring to another post?

will it be a cold winter (last bad one, starting before year 2000)?

will this forum take off again?

will tourists come?

will the baht strengthen?

inquiring minds want to know!!!
