Phuket Hotel Recommendations

Featured Replies

I'll be in Phuket for the first time next week and I'm looking for recommendations on what hotels to stay at. I'll be there for 4 days, 3 nights and there seems to be a lot of beaches so it's hard to figure out where to stay. I'm willing to stay at various hotels if that's the best route to go. I'm looking for best "bang for the buck" type of hotels and do not need anything fancy. I just need a place that is convenient. Thanks.

I would recommend going to Patong Beach...It has a nice beach and it`s also very central in regards to night life.... Bangla Road is the main party street, with a very nice beach at the end of the road.... at the opposite end of Bangla road you have a few streets (soi`s) with guest houses...nice places to stay...

Depends whether you want to party a lot at night = Patong for you, or you prefer a quieter beach area = Karon, Kata or Kamala, for a less hectic scene.

Perhaps you can let us know what sort of holiday you seek, then we can offer up some suitable hotel ideas.

thanks for the recommendations. i mistakenly called the summer breeze inn nearby phuket town and ended up staying there.. bad decision. the place was a guest house in a local neighborhood and the guy charged me for everything - 560 baht for airport transfer, 150 baht for cereal and fruit for breakfast, 600 baht for driving me to the night market and restaurant for dinner, and then 500 baht for driving me to patong beach in the morning. i realized it was a mistake when he didn't take the turn to patong beach, but i figured i might as well stay one night since i already made the reservation. the room rate was 1000 baht so not cheap either.

anyways, i'm at the patong summer breeze hotel now and i love it. it's a really good bang for the buck hotel.. it's got wifi, good location, nice room, and best of all, it's only 1080 baht per night.

thanks again for this great recommendation.
