Help! Anybody have one? Mine is broken. They sell for 5500Baht here. 79.00dollars in the USA. Anybody have an old one they don't need? ideas?

This is a common problem Flightcrew.

When mine went US I discovered from the net it happened a lot, and was pretty miffed when it seemed Apple knew that yet was still selling exactly the same thing for that very high price.

FYI it is often a shorting problem inside the cable. You need to find where the short is first. THis invloves getting in. I managed to repair mine but it was extremely fiddly involving even getting into the plug by sawing into it all the way round and breaking open the transformer box which was a matter of controlled force.

Still using it as a backup for my Macbook though, great little computer battery still OK!

BTW the Macbooks start in the low 40,000s now....a bargain. I fyou try one you won't walk out without buying it.

Or you could cut off the plug and fit it on a generic PC power adapter for that Frankenbook look and feel... I had the electric shop do that once for my DSL modem. Took them 2 minutes.

Clearly the PC power adapter would have to have the same output rating, amps and voltage. Just an option. I would find buy a new one or find a shop to repair the old one.
