A couple of present day laws relating to pilot's liscenses in Australia:

1. A pilot may use whatever force necessary to maintain order on his ship.

(You are able to shoot, strangle or torture somebody if you feel they pose a danger to your aeroplane during flight)

2. There is no drink flying rule other than "8 hours from bottle to throttle".

(In other words, if you have been on a severe binge, after eight hours of not drinking, irrespective of whether you are sober or not, you may fly an aeroplane in a command position)

Knowing how most pilots like a drink or twenty you have to wonder!

I would be very worried if an Australian pilot had a beer a week before a flight

as we all know they cant handle more than one VB a session.
