Successful Interview

Featured Replies

Hi all ,

Just a quick question regarding a settlement visa,As most know my wife has her interview 4th december 8:00 am at the Uk Embassy. If the visa is granted do we get it on the same day or is there a time scale we have to wait.

I want to book her flight back with me as soon as possible on 7th or 9th december.Even though if she doesnt get it i will lose out.

cheers

Yes, if successful she will get it on the same day. I wouldn't book until she has got it, you can easily sort a flight after you know.

When my mrs got hers, we booked the flight afterwards and she was here within 3 days. We could have got it sooner but she needed to sort things out.

Good luck

Thanks again MrB

Yes i would rather book once we know but i am leaving Thailand on 9th december, and booking for her once she has been granted only gives us 3-4 days. Also the flights will be extortionate prices .

Sorry ,scotty been workin and just got back online.

The wifes visa was refused. Her interview lasted all of 10 minutes.Grounds of refusal were"when asked she could not speak about anything about my life and more so my interests in England".

She was not asked this question in the interview. If she had have been asked she would have spent about 20 minutes talking about all my families life over here as she regularly talks to my family and knows all about work, life etc.

Have now seen my local MP who has taken the case to the top(Liam Byrne mp).who is looking into the Racist attitude of the mid 20s ECO who was in there. One lady went in before my wife ,she spoke perfect english ,when she answered the 1st question in english was told by Mid 20s male ECO "you are not english you are thai, when you are in here with me you speak thai, you are in thailand not England"She came out of the interview very upset about this and was not granted her visa.

I have also sent in our own appeal which is pending but a long process, just one problem,i have put myself down as her representative, but i think i need somebody better qualified if this goes to a hearing.

cheers.

Sorry to hear about the Visa refusal.

I'm new to this forum and soon my fiancee will be applying for a visa too. I don't know your story but I hope you and your girlfriend dust yourself down and knock on the door again soon. did tha mean you lost about 500quid on the visa application ?

Please can you confirm that you believed you had a good cases , such as having lived with her for several months before you applied for visa, had a huge photo collection showing you in many different places , had evidence of contact in the times you were apart etc etc.

Yep, lost all the money, they dont give that back.

The application was all in order i.e photos, emails, western union slips.

Just hope the appeal goes our way, only snag on that is i think i should have a professional representing us and not me as i dont really know the ins and outs of tribunals.
