Cbr150 Service & Custom Seats In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I bought a CBR150 today and I think I got an okay deal. One of the fork seals needs to be fixed as it is leaking and I am hoping someone can recommend a good shop to do the work.

Also, I would like to get a custom seat made for it as well as get some after-market pegs someone mentioned on a prior post. Where can I get that done?

All help apreciatted!

Congratulations on your purchase; it proves there are some used CBR150's in Chiang Mai for sale. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

As I said yesterday, Niyom Panich (just north of the airport plaza intersection, heading toward the west outer side of the moat) is probably as good as it gets. I've used them a lot for over four years, exclusively during the two years of warranty. However, they did stumble on the carburetor repair and it took a second time in the shop for a couple of days to fix that. Sasha Panich, on Chotana Road (also in conjunction with a Toyota and appliance dealership) is probably good, too. Some folks use a dealership across from Prince Royal College. That last one was the place that had an original mirror for the one I broke on Saturday.

I don't know about a custom seat; let me know if you find one, since I scratched the pillion. Nowadays, since it's long out of warranty, we use an old friend outside of San Kampaeng, who charges very little. And, we start searching for parts at Prida (rear tire last month), but he didn't have a mirror yesterday.

Thanks for the fast response PB! I'll check them out once I get a few miles on the bike. I don't think all the oil will leak out of the fork tube too fast.

The bike handles a lot like my old Honda 750F and it feels great to own a motorcycle again. Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand is such a great place to cycle and motorcycle.

Thanks again....... Now for someone to post a custom seat resource!

There are lots of shops that do custom seats for step-throughs like a Sonic. I've seen a few of these shops on the north side of Chang Moi Rd. roughly halfway between the moat & Warorot market. I'm not sure if they could do a CBR seat but it couldn't hurt to ask. They might be able to point you in the right direction.
