Credit card fees
I also have a 'cash management' account card w/Fidelity. Been with them since the 80s. That's where my pension goes, and actually lived off that last yet, while banking my whole Soc Sec DD @ BBL, actually wife's BBL to avoid filing FBAR. SS is more than enough for ret visa extension. Daily limit @ $500, which is fine, since pension is only $357, since I took it way early Strangely, haven't touched either yet, and still living off some leftover baht from last year. Also haven't taken any long O&A this year. After Songkran, out the door for a nice one, planning now. -

Other expat countries India
On my last trip to India a few years back I was surprised how prices had jumped since the 1990's. I think Thailand is better value on a like for like budget and quality of life is way superior (very important in later years). India is fantastic for visits long and short but living there full time would be too much for most people. As mentioned earlier there's no long stay retirement visa options. And don't be fooled by apparent spirituality, the country has more bogus holy men than anywhere in the world. -

Credit card fees
I think Krungsri also has that exchange rate policy ( of a 2% to 2.5% fee embedded ( hidden) inside the exchange rate they give with conversions via US$) when using one of their credit cards outside of Thailand. When I am outside of Thailand I use my Wise debit card, where I have already prepositioned money in the local currency. At least this way I know in advance the exchange rate I will be getting ( albeit obviously there is guess work as to currency movement after one pre converts the money in wise to the foreign currency). -

Grandmother Reports Kidnapping, But Child Was Taken by His Father for Songkran Festival
Traffic enforcement Thai style. Sounds like the father is a delivery driver, so must do a lot of miles. An accident waiting to happen with that windscreen.
