Are There Any Cisco Students In The Chonburi Area?

Featured Replies

Bit of a long shot but....are there any other Cisco students that want to 'hook up' for group study? I`m based in Chonburi. I`m half way through the CCSP but want to get started on CCNP too. I have a small home lab.. 1 X 2612 router 2 X 2507 routers and 2x 2900XL switches

Haven't studied any cisco, just hacked my linksys :o

Can you get jobs in Thailand with Cisco certs?

  • Author

I don't see why not but you need experience. Good Cisco engineers are in demand worldwide. Plus you can contract out, 3 or 6 months contracts so your not committed to full time employment leaves you free to return to Thailand with your earnings.

Thailand has numerous engineers working at the ISPs with CCNA certification. It's very very to pass that exam.

CCNP is a different story, with lots and lots of studying one can pass the exam without any hands-on experience, but it's not the way to do it.

There is indeed a worldwide demand for Cisco qualified engineers. Certification is usefull when applying for a job, but once you're behind that desk, it comes down to experience and qualification.

I haven't seen any Cisco jobs in Thailand yet. Most large enterprises here (e.g. Shell) have their networks managed from Singapore.

Like i said, half through CCSP, completed already CCNA and now at present I`m a Cisco Certified Security Specialist and Cisco Security Imformation Specialist. Completed 3 exams only 2 more to go for CCSP..Then I just want to get CCNP Routing and Switching out of the way. I was offered a contract starting in the New Year for a UK online gambling site, so it looks like all the hard works paid off...but got to be honest..its been a case of 'who you know'..

BTW have you looked at Vietnam for employment?
