Acer Aspire 5920g

Featured Replies

Thinking of splashing out as my old Sony VGN-T150p is now showing its 3 years of travel. Battery failed yesterday after sterling service.

Impressed by the Acer's specs and have read good reviews on the web. Any first hand experience on here and what is the Acer service like these days as I've heard mixed reports.

Or is there anything comparable spec wise out there for similar price? I do like the odd game and the 8600gs on board makes this a definate for all but the latest games. Sony struggled somewhat for anything beyond Quake 2.... :o

Cheers

No, but I got a year old Acer 5583 that has been 100% reliable, plays WoWC and various other things and doesn't seem to struggle too much. Only thing I noticed is that the case doesn't feel as robust as the IBM Thinkpads and Fujitsu Lifebooks I've used at work - don't think I'd want to take it travelling too often.

Bought it at IT City in Central Rama III - who seemed to know what they were doing although I guess the conversation was 50/50 Thai / English, so if you have a bit of Thai language, go for it.

Have fun,
