Duty Free - Connecting Int To Dom At Bkk

Featured Replies

When I fly LHR-BKK; BKK-HKT in January I assume that if I buy duty free in LHR it will be confiscated from my hand luggage at BKK when trying to to board my flight to HKT. Is this correct?

If so, can I buy duty free in BKK and carry it on to the HKT flight or can I buy duty free at HKT?

TIA

John

You can take the duty free goods with you if they are in a sealed bag and you travel on the same day as the date on the invoice ... and yes, they do have duty free goods at the airport in HK.

Which is normally more expensive than Robinson (Phuket or Patong) or any reasonable Minimart on the island. :o

I never ever buy anything there.

Ah! the same day point is a problem as I will leave LHR the day before I get to BKK :o To be honest it is not so much the price that worries me, it is fact that choice of decent malt whisky is limited in Thailand, especially when compared to the whisky shop at LHR.

Thanks.

John
